Alex Belloso was born in Alton, Illinois, in 1990. His commitment to discipline, resilience, and physical fitness began at an early age. He started lifting weights at just 12 years old and remained active throughout his youth, competing in basketball, football, and track — earning recognition as the Most Fit student in high school.
After graduating, Alex enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving four years with 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines, including two combat deployments to Afghanistan as a Fire Team Leader and Squad Leader. Those experiences reinforced lessons that would shape the rest of his life: discipline under pressure, accountability, teamwork, and the understanding that physical preparedness can make a critical difference when lives are on the line.
Following his military service, Alex spent more than a decade in the private security industry, conducting Protective Security Details throughout Iraq and Afghanistan — a profession where fitness wasn't optional, it was a job requirement. Alongside that career, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Project Management, combining real-world leadership with the knowledge to build organizations and lead teams effectively.
Those experiences became the foundation of Defiant Fitness — built around a simple belief: strength is a choice. Being physically fit doesn't mean looking like a bodybuilder or a professional athlete. It means being capable — having the strength, endurance, mobility, and confidence to take care of yourself, protect the people you love, and meet life's challenges head-on.
Defiant Fitness isn't built on shortcuts or gimmicks. It's built on hard work, accountability, and the belief that ordinary people are capable of extraordinary things when they commit to becoming better every day.
